Addiction is a brain disorder 

Addiction is a brain disorder that is defined by a compulsive need for rewarding stimulus despite consequences.

If the exposure to an addiction is constant this can drive the development and maintenance of the addiction.

Although psychosocial factors are involved  it is believed that repeated exposure to this high thrilled stimulus can mark the addiction. .It is believed that a gene transcription factor can contribute and is a common factor to the development of the addiction.

Addiction causes a hugh financial, psychological and is draining on society.Whether this is due to healthcare costs ,loss of finances or accidents due to impaired control over theses substances.

It is important to recognise addiction and dependance and seek help promptly.Both can occur with or without each other.

It can be drug or behavioral that include alcoholism, marijuana addiction, amphetamine addiction, cocaine addiction, nicotine addiction, opioid addiction, food addiction, chocolate addiction, video game addiction, gambling addiction, and sexual addiction.
